Heart Rate Monitor Products Information

It is very important to know what your heart rate is while working out.  To maximize your fitness efforts and to get the most out of your workout sessions you need to be in your targeted heart rate zone.  This zone varies from person to person and is calculated based on age.  Generally your target heart rate is 60 - 80 % of your maximum heart rate.  Your maximum heart rate can be calculated by this simple formula:  220 - (your age).

The more you are in your target heart rate zone the more intense your workouts will become and the better results you will receive.  Also, if you work out too hard you may hinder your progress or even suffer health problems so it is important not to go over your maximum heart rate for long periods of time (unless you are an ultra-intense athlete).
